Rescue 3 International is a global accrediting body for state-of-the-art technical Swiftwater rescue courses.  Public Safety Training & Response Group is licenced by Rescue 3 International to deliver these internationally recognised courses used by people in aiding those in high-risk environments. We focus on ensuring participants are job ready for this challenging environment.

Water and Flood Awareness

Raise your awareness in swiftwater and flood rescue. This 8-hour classroom seminar introduces you to the problems associated with swiftwater & flood rescue as well as the procedures to follow in flash flood, large-scale disaster, and seasonal flooding situations.

In this course, you will develop the necessary conceptual understanding of the principles, applications, and hazards associated with advanced water rescue techniques.

Basic Water First Responder

Utilise your swimming ability to undertake rescues in a stillwater environment. This course is designed for personnel who may be deployed to a basic (still) water environment such as lakes, ponds, and canals, where they may be required to undertake rescues.

This 12-hour course is mixture of theory and practical sessions for those aged 18 and above. Participants must already be a confident swimmer.

Operations: Swiftwater and Flood First Responder

Operate in a support role for technician level rescuers in higher risk technical water rescues.

This course is designed to provide you with both a theoretical and practical knowledge of the basics of swiftwater rescue. The class includes one day of classroom instruction and one day of practical field exercise.

Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician

Survive in moving water by learning the practical skills of self-rescue, swiftwater swimming and the fundamentals of shore, boat, and in-water rescues.

In this course, you will gain knowledge in hydrology and river classifications, size-up, site control and scene management.

Rescues from Vehicles in Water

Specialise in vehicle-related rescues in swiftwater and flood environments.

The course looks at vehicle behaviour and stabilization in water, as well as access techniques and victim extrication. Vehicle hydrology, glass management, anchors, and weight transfer are all addressed in this two-day, hands-on clinic.

Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Technician Advanced

Advance your skills in swiftwater and flood rescue. Take your skills beyond self-rescue to concentrate on victim rescue where you will be exposed to more complex water rescue situations including a mock night river rescue scenario.

This is a 24-hour course over three days, including 4-6 house of classroom, instruction, followed by two and one-half days of hands-on skill development.

Professional Qualification Assessment: Water

Are you a fully trained rescuer? This assessment provides independent verification of your qualification as a Swiftwater Rescue Technician.

This assessment is not an instructional course, but rather is a place for you as a fully trained rescuer to prove your competency.

This is an 8-hour course for those aged 18 and above. You are required to have already completed Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT) or Swiftwater Rescue Technician Advanced Water (SRTAW).

Body Recovery from Water

Conduct body recovery from water. Body Recovery from Water (BRW) course is a one-day classroom course. This course is aimed at those who may lead or participate in body recoveries, in particular but not limited to swiftwater environments.

As this course uses real footage of body recoveries and decomposition, this course is not suitable for those who may find such information and viewing upsetting. You need no prior water experience as the one-day format is entirely classroom based.

This is an 8-hour course for those aged 18 and above.

Swiftwater Recovery Specialist

Become a swiftwater recovery specialist. With a curriculum designed by international experts, this one-day course is specially-designed for those already certified to the Swiftwater Rescue Technician level (current certification required). This is a 16-hour course for those aged 18 and above. You are required to have already completed Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT).

The Inland Rescue Swimmer is focused on the inland open water environment to include areas such as lakes or ponds of various sizes.

This is a 16-hour course for those aged 18 and above. You are required to have already completed Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT). Participants must already be a confident swimmer.
