FAQ
No, you don’t need to own a drone. We provide all necessary drone equipment during training, including CASA-compliant UAVs. However, if you already have a drone, you’re welcome to bring it for assessment and practice (subject to instructor approval).
The RePL is a CASA-issued licence that legally authorises you to fly drones commercially in Australia.
- The Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) is a nationally recognised qualification that includes the RePL and adds broader aviation knowledge, workplace readiness, and career progression pathways. Both are valuable, but the Cert III is ideal for those seeking long-term roles in industries like emergency services, surveying, and government contracts.
Yes. Our courses are conducted under a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) certified training syllabus and are delivered by a CASA-certified Remote Operator Certificate (ReOC) holder. You’ll receive a CASA-issued Remote Pilot Licence upon successful completion.
RePL and Cert III qualifications open doors in a range of industries including:
- Emergency services and disaster response
- Surveying and mapping
- Agriculture and environmental monitoring
- Film, media, and photography
- Infrastructure inspection (e.g., utilities, towers, pipelines)
Some employers also require Cert III to meet contract requirements, particularly in defence or government sectors.
- RePL only: Approx. 5 days in-person.
- Cert III in Aviation: This course can vary pending delivery, can be achieved 10 days face-to-face, supported by online theory units. We offer flexible delivery options, including accelerated programs for those with prior experience.
The AROC is required if you plan to operate drones in controlled airspace or communicate with air traffic control. It’s a valuable addition for professional pilots and included in several of our packages.
Absolutely. Please contact us for available rates for groups. We also offer veteran and emergency service staff discounts.
